Hey, we’re back.
Faithful readers and listeners may have noticed we went quiet after July. In our defense, we were busy. Like, 7 days a week, nights and weekends, busy. For the past year we’ve been building software: AI-powered tools for the thing we’ve always done, which is understanding people at work. We needed to lock in to get some things across the finish line. We paused pretty much everything in our lives that wasn’t client work or building these new tools.
It’s called Emersen.
We made a short film about why. Watch that first, then keep reading.
The idea came from our clients. As AI moved from pilot programs into everyday work, the same question kept coming up in our leadership conversations: what will the future of work look like here, and how do the people we have today fit into it?
Emersen is our answer. It’s a suite of AI tools that helps organizations understand their people, develop them, and bring them along as work changes. We spent the past year building it and the past several months quietly piloting it with clients, who shaped a lot of what you’ll see. Now we’re opening it up.
The first tool is Emersen Assess. For a decade we’ve used our Employee Experience Framework to find out what it’s really like to work somewhere, one interview and one focus group at a time. Assess has that same conversation with everyone in the organization, by voice, and reads every answer against the same framework. It hears every voice, not a sample. What leaders get back is a dashboard of the whole organization, team by team, and a roadmap for what to do about it.
It also measures something most AI strategies skip: whether the workforce is actually ready. That doesn’t mean whether people have been trained. It means whether they trust why AI is being introduced, know what they’re allowed to do with it, have seen their leaders use it, and have access to it at all. Proficiency is whether people can. Readiness is whether they will.
Want to try it? Reply to this email, or write to us at [address], and we’ll send you Emersen Vision, a short conversation with Emersen built for leaders. It takes less than 10 minutes, and we think you’ll find it eye-opening.
There’s more to tell you, including some changes to how we’re organized, and we’ll get to that next week. For now, go watch the film, poke around emersen-ai.com, and let us know what you think.
Thanks for sticking with us. More soon.
